4) FamilyTree Downloads 家庭树

This page is a collection of Family-Tree downloads. The design of the downloads would allow future generations to contribute their family-tree.  It is not practical during this moment to include more than 3 generations into 1 single page-print .    Each person would appear in 3 trees, 1st as grandchild , 2nd time as parent , in the last tree you will appear as grand-parent. Perhaps when the family size gets smaller in future,  the family tree can accomodate 4 generations. Please email your family-tree to the authors of this Blog as listed on the last page.

Up until the 29th Generation, the males were given 2 names, a birth name and an "adulthood" (成人）name which would take effect ONLY after marriage.  The reason for this practice is not fully understood at this moment, but according to PengYee, it would help identify just by the name which generation the descendent belongs to because the 'adulthood' name would have to follow a standard pattern listed in the "hand-written family-tree" by PengMun in 1993. The naming pattern starts over again at the end of each cycle .  For males who chose to remain single, it is not important anymore for them to adopt the adulthood-name... (if anyone knows the reason , plse enlighten the author by email).

The tradition of this naming stopped from 29th Generation onwards, who chose to keep his birth-name even after marriage, reason being it is the name given by their father (and not the pattern given by the ancestor).  The children from 30th generation onwards also no longer follow the naming pattern.  Maybe a later generation can create a more elaborate family-tree thru one of the apps.

The format below allows future generations to trace their roots for as long as subsequent generations continue to contribute their family tree to this blog. By the time your name appears below, you would be a grandparent. Just remember that family trees are created for your descendants to find their roots & know their own history, it is rarely done for yourself.
